Submission Guidelines
There's a new publication cycle!

The Shade Journal now publishes poems every first and third Thursday of the month beginning March 2025.
​
The open reading cycle ends October 31.
​
Here's how you can submit!​
​
Submit 3-5 unpublished poems of any length in a single file to info@shadeliteraryarts.org. Use "2025 Shade Submission" as the subject.
"Unpublished" is considered never appearing online (including all blogs; not including in video format). Simultaneous submissions are accepted. Please notify us immediately if one or more of these poems has been accepted elsewhere. ​​​
​
Please do not send multiple submissions during the reading period. Multiple submissions will not be opened and discarded.

You will receive a response within a month of your submission.
​
We offer $20 per acceptance.
​
Your work will be considered by Luther Hughes.
​
